This feature class was created for the mapping of information stored in the MOBILITY database. The County stores and manages the majority of its road information in MOBILITY. The MOBILITY database is located at the County Roads Administration Board's (CRAB) office; however, the CRAB has created scripts to push all the data tables to an FTP site on a daily basis. By downloading the latest tables, County Staff can map point and linear MOBILITY data as events. This data will soon be updated nightly with the download from CRAB and joined to GIS data the county manages.
This layer is a comprehensive depiction of roads within Island County that have an assigned MOBILITY Road Log Number. Road log numbers are used by the County for storing and managing most roads engineering data. Most importantly, the road log numbers correlate to the CRAB's MOBILITY database. Roads_Address was photogrammetrically generated from 2007 aerial photos of the county. All attributes within Roads_Mobility were conflated from pre-existing centerline layers. Roads_Mobility is a spatial subset of Roads_Address. Roads_Mobility plays a secondary role in a topology.(Roads_and_Tranportation_Topology). Topology rules require all centerlines in Roads_Mobility are spatially coincident with features in Roads_Address. Spatial editing of Roads_Mobility should occur within Roads_Address with coincident edits applied to Roads_Mobility polylines.

RoadNumber, RoadName, BMP (Begin MilePost), EMP(End MilePost), FROM and TO - all describe the road segment's location. Legnth, TruckRouteClass, NoThruLanes (Number of Thru Lanes), ThruLaneWidth, ThruLaneSurf(Thru Lane Surface), OtherLaneSurfDesc (Other Land Surface Description), LeftPavedShoulderWidth, RightPavedShoulderWidth, LeftPavedShoulderSurf (Surface), RightPavedShoulderSurf (Surface), PavementThickness, PavementYear, Average Pavement Surface Condition, Average Daily Traffic, Average Daily Traffic Year, Speed Limit, Maintenance District, School Bus Route, Mail Route, Transit Route, Pavement Width. All fields other than the location fields downloaded from CRAB and scripted to be modified nightly. This is joned by the Location data to GIS.
