Island County Roadway Functional Classification

                            This layer is a comprehensive depiction of  roads within Island County that have an assigned CAMS identification code.  CAMS codes are used by the County's WIN-CAMS accounting system.  By default Roads_CAMS  is mostly only roads owned by Island County.  The centerlines of this layer were copied from Roads_Address.  Roads_Address was photogrammetrically generated from 2007 aerial photos of the county.  All attributes within Roads_CAMS were conflated from pre-existing centerline layers.

Roads_CAMS  is a spatial subset of Roads_Address.  Roads_CAMS plays a secondary role in a topology (Roads_and_Tranportation_Topology).  Topology rules require all centerlines in Roads_CAMS are spatially coincident with features in Roads_Address.  Spatial editing of Roads_CAMS should occur within Roads_Address with coincident edits applied to Roads_CAMS polylines.

                          

                            This feature class was created for the following uses: a.) Integration with WIN-CAMS, b.) Creation of a variety of maps for the roads department that include a depiction of maintenance districts., c.) Creation of the local transportation plan map for the County's comprehensive plan.
                          

                            The segmentation of Roads_CAMS is different than Roads_Address.  CAMS units are subunits of Roads_Mobility routes.  It should be noted that the CAMSID is not a unique ID.  When combined with RoadNumber, it creates a unique ID for county road segments.
