Roads

                            This layer is a comprehensive depiction of all roads within Island County. It includes all Federal, State, County, and City owned roads and contains most private roads. The centerlines of this layer were photogrammetrically generated from 2007 aerial photos of the county. All attributes within Roads_Address were conflated from pre-existing centerline layers.  The road lines are generally within a few feet of the road centerlines as seen on aerial photos.
                          

                            This feature class was created for the following uses: a.) Geocoding using street centerline distance interpolation, b.) identification of ownership and jurisdiction of roads within the county, c.) maintenance, mapping, and analysis of speed zones, d.) maintenance, mapping, and analysis of federal functional classes (FCC), and e.) general cartographic uses.
                          

                            Roads_Address is the foundation for all centerline layers stored in the Roads_and_Tranportation feature dataset.  All other centerline feature classes within this feature dataset are spatial subsets of Roads_Address.  Roads_Address plays a primary role in a topology (Roads_and_Tranportation_Topology).  Topology rules require all centerlines in Roads_Names, Roads_CAMS, and Roads_Mobility are spatially coincident with features in Roads_Address.  Spatial editing of centerline data should occur within Roads_Address with coincident edits applied to the dependent centerline feature classes.
